Helms, Samuel T., et al. REVIEW OF FALL 1973 AND FALL 1974 UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND BALTIMORE COUNTY FRESHMEN RESPONSES TO THE A. C. E. STUDENT INFORMATION FORM. Mar 1975. 27 p. (ED124076)

During the 1973 and 1974 orientation programs, first-time, full-time University of Maryland Baltimore County freshmen were administered the Student Information Form (SIF) by the UMBC Counseling Center. The SIF is a survey instrument developed by the American Council on Education for the Cooperative Institutional Research Program. The SIF provides information regarding demographic and biographic data, high school background, educational and career aspirations, student traits and attitudes, and financing college expenses. Data were available on 1051 and 980 UMBC freshmen for 1973 and 1974, respectively. This report reviews changes in responses to items by UMBC freshmen between 1973 and 1974. National norms for public universities for the same two year period are reported so that differences can be seen between UMBC and similar institutions. (Author)
