Edgar Romo is a doctoral student in the Higher Education and Organizational Change program. Within HERI, he is a Research Analyst with an NSF-IUSE grant seeking to transform undergraduate STEM education by integrating learner-centered pedagogy into introductory biology and math curricula at UCLA. A Life-Long Bruin, he completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at UCLA before returning for the Ph.D to pursue a career in academia. His research interests include STEM education, underrepresented students, and access to graduate education. In his spare time, he enjoys reading classical history and science fiction, playing baseball and soccer, listening to country music, and hiking around Los Angeles.
