HERI at the 2012 AIR Forum
This weekend will see a number of us here at HERI flying to New Orleans for the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Annual Forum. As usual, there are many presentations at AIR that will feature CIRP data. Some of these are by HERI staff using national data, but some are institutional researchers using their own local data. We have a flyer with all the presentations listed available here, but I thought I would point out a few highlights:
HERI Director Sylvia Hurtado will present with two of our graduate students (Adriana Ruiz and Hannah Whang) on Assessing Student’s Social Responsibility and Commitment to Public Service on Tuesday at 11:10. If your campus is interested in civic engagement, don’t miss this comprehensive discussion of the findings from CIRP surveys on social responsibility.
Later that day, go hear about getting your students involved with faculty early in college and how those interactions can lead to mentoring relationships from CIRP graduate students Marcia Fuentes, Adriana Ruiz, and Jennifer Berdan, along with CIRP Assistant Director for Research Linda DeAngelo.
And for those of you wanted to know more about how to use CIRP data effectively on campus, attend CIRP Assistant Director Laura Palucki Blake’s presentation on Monday at 11:10: Digging Deeper Into Survey Data: Using CIRP Surveys to Explore Institutional Effectiveness.
These are just 3 of the 16 CIRP-related presentations at AIR this year. And do come by and visit us in the HERI booth in the exhibit hall. Yes, there will be M&Ms.
