Laura Palucki Blake to join HERI team
We are very pleased to announce that Laura Palucki Blake will be joining the Higher Education Research Institute as the new Assistant Director in the Cooperative Institutional Research Program. Laura is currently the Director of Assessment at Agnes Scott College, a position she has held since 2005. While there she has made extensive use of CIRP and other national surveys, implementing an approach for institutional assessment and accreditation which includes the definition of goals, objectives, and student learning outcomes, engaging the campus in large and small scale assessment projects, and developing documentation to support evidence-based decision-making. She is well known to many of you as a frequent and favorite presenter at conferences and meetings across the country.
A social psychologist with a doctorate from the Claremont Graduate University, she is the author of “Critical Thinking in Psychology” (2008) in G.W. Rainbolt & S.L. Dwyer’s “Critical Thinking in College” and a co-author of “Perceptions of hate crime perpetrators as influenced by race, political orientation, and peer group” for the American Behavioral Scientist.
Laura will join HERI this summer when she will be responsible for working with our participating institutions in both implementing the various CIRP surveys and in developing and communicating about effective and innovative ways of using data. As such you will continue to see her in many meetings and conferences across the country as she helps us further our knowledge of who our students are and how they are impacted by their college experiences.
