The primary objective of this project is to assist educators in addressing the needs and advancing the success of a diverse student population who will begin to take leadership in a new vision of society described above. Specifically, the project is guided by four overarching goals:
- Develop a greater awareness about diversity, student learning, and student success both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assess and develop undergraduates’ skills for work and citizenship in a pluralistic democracy.
- Create the conditions for realizing the benefits of diversity in the learning process.
- Increase retention rates and also improve the assessment of retention on campuses around the country.
